WhatsApp QR code generator
Scanning opens a WhatsApp conversation with your number and a pre-written first message. No contact saving, no typing.
A WhatsApp QR code stores a wa.me link to a phone number, so a phone opens a WhatsApp chat with it — with a message ready, if you add one.
Style this code — colour, shape, branding, frame and output
Colour & contrastThe ink, the paper behind it, and the three eyes. Every choice is contrast-checked as you make it.
ShapeHow the squares are drawn. The three eyes are styled apart from the data, because a scanner finds the code by them.
BrandingYour mark on the code. Every picture here costs scanability — the notes say how much, and the preview is the truth.
Frame & captionA border and a line of text around the code — the "scan me" that tells a passer-by what it is for.
OutputWhat comes out of the download buttons, and what the symbol actually carries.
Print-ready PDF
A press file at the finished size: 3mm bleed, crop marks and a trim box a print shop’s checks read. The code is drawn black on white whatever the design above — how a colour prints is something only a test print can show.
Why does the pre-filled message matter?
The hardest part of a chat funnel is the empty text field. A first line already written — naming the product, the branch or the offer — removes the hesitation and tells you where the conversation came from without any analytics at all.
Dynamic is worth it here
WhatsApp numbers change when a business moves, adds a line, or switches to the WhatsApp Business API. A dynamic code lets you repoint the printed asset instead of reprinting it — and the payload stays at version 2 either way, because the code only carries a short link.
One code per location
Give each branch its own code and pre-filled message. Scans then tell you which standee, table or window is generating chats, and staff know which enquiry belongs to them.
WhatsApp QR code questions
Does it need WhatsApp installed?
Yes. Without it the link falls back to a WhatsApp web page, which is a dead end on most phones — pair it with a phone number in print.
Business or personal number?
Either works. WhatsApp Business adds catalogues, away messages and labels, which is usually worth it for a printed campaign.
Can the customer edit the message?
Yes — it is a draft, not a locked message. That is by design.
Can I use a group invite link?
Yes, as a URL code. Make it dynamic — group links get revoked, and a dead group link on printed material cannot be fixed.
Want to change it after it’s printed?
Make it a dynamic code: it carries a short link you can point somewhere new at any time, and it counts every scan. A free account includes 5 dynamic codes and needs no card — and a dynamic code keeps redirecting even if you never upgrade.
