STRAIGHT TO THE REVIEW BOX

Google review QR code generator

Skip the search and the profile page — one scan opens the review dialog for your business, star rating ready.

A Google review QR code stores a link to a business’s Google review form, so a customer can rate it in one step.

Add the content
We look up the Place ID so the code opens the review box directly instead of your profile.
Style this code
Style this code — colour, shape, branding, frame and output
Colour & contrastThe ink, the paper behind it, and the three eyes. Every choice is contrast-checked as you make it.
Foreground
18.0:1 against the background — clears the 4.5:1 a camera wants margin on.
Background
Eye colours
ShapeHow the squares are drawn. The three eyes are styled apart from the data, because a scanner finds the code by them.
Modules
Every shape here is decode-tested before it is offered. Shapes that lose the symbol — diamond, star, heart — are not on this list, however good they look.
Eye frame
Eye centre
BrandingYour mark on the code. Every picture here costs scanability — the notes say how much, and the preview is the truth.
Logo image
PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 2MB. The modules beneath it are cleared and error correction rises to cover the hole.
Background picture
Sits behind the modules, quiet zone included. A busy picture is the classic reason a decorated code stops scanning — check the preview with a phone before printing.
Foreground texture
Washes over the ink itself, so it is capped well below full strength — at full strength there is no code left to scan.
Frame & captionA border and a line of text around the code — the "scan me" that tells a passer-by what it is for.
Frame style
A frame is drawn outside the quiet zone, never into it — the canvas grows instead, so the border cannot cost the code its margin.
OutputWhat comes out of the download buttons, and what the symbol actually carries.
Options
Automatic picks the smallest encoding that carries your text, and is right almost always. The other three exist for older scanners that expect one specific encoding; each refuses text it cannot carry rather than mangling it. Encodings we cannot convert to correctly are not offered at all.The margin never goes below 4 — ISO/IEC 18004's minimum; smaller is not a QR code. A logo raises error correction to at least Q. Encoding is chosen by the encoder per symbol and shown in the readout — a manual charset menu only makes codes bigger.
Embedded datahttps://qrrd.in/a8K92xThe exact text the symbol carries — what any scanner will read out.

What is a Place ID, and why does it matter?

Most review codes point at a search result or a business profile, adding two taps before anyone can type. Using the Place ID opens the write-a-review dialog directly. That difference is most of the conversion.

Ask at the right moment

The highest-yield placement is the payment counter or the post-payment screen, while the experience is fresh and the phone is already out. On a table tent it competes with the meal; on the bill it does not.

What you must not do

Never gate a review behind a discount, and never route negative feedback away from Google — both breach Google’s policies and can get reviews removed. Put a private feedback form beside the review code, not in front of it.

Google review QR code questions

Do reviewers need a Google account?

Yes, Google requires one to post. Most Android users are already signed in, which is why this converts well in India.

Can I filter out bad reviews?

No, and you should not try. Review gating violates Google policy and risks your review history. Offer a separate private feedback form instead.

What if my Place ID changes?

Use a dynamic code — if the listing is merged or recreated, you repoint it without reprinting a single standee.

Can I see how many people scanned?

Yes with a dynamic code: scans, times and devices. Google does not tell anyone which review came from which scan.

Want to change it after it’s printed?

Make it a dynamic code: it carries a short link you can point somewhere new at any time, and it counts every scan. A free account includes 5 dynamic codes and needs no card — and a dynamic code keeps redirecting even if you never upgrade.
